Newbies jjas7 Posted February 26, 2005 Newbies Posted February 26, 2005 Please help! I am creating a music database library. I want to be able to play a track (a quicktime) and then hit a button and have filemaker save the quicktime to my desktop (or a folder). I know how to get it to play the track, but I have no idea how to write a script that would save the file to my desktop. Would someone please give me detailed instructions? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
transpower Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Use the Export Field Contents script step to send the track to a default file, then use Send Event to copy that default file to another file of your choice. Search for "Send Event" in the forums to learn how to do that.
Fenton Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 If this is on your own Mac (not a network), then you could use the method in the attached file. It exports to its own folder, then moves the file to your desktop. I say "your" because, from FileMaker's fixed point of view, in the File Reference part of the Export script step's dialog, your desktop is not the same as mine (because of the short user name). ExportFileonly.zip
