File Icons turned white

If this were Windows, I'd answer that the OS has lost the file associations and that you need to tell the OS to open .fp7 files with FMP7 henceforth.

As Mac is not exactly my forte, this is all I can say:

The Mac deals with recognition of which program should be used to open certain files differently (the info for that is actually in the files themselves) but I have no idea how to restore that. Maybe some utility that works akin to 'restore permissions' in the Disk Utility?
