Summarizing data from a value list

I have a value list containing training sessions A, B, C, D, E, and F. I want to summarize these values at the end of my report. For instance, I have a field where only one of the training sessions (A through F) can be selected at a time for the participants of the training. I need a count of all the A's, B's, C's, etc. How would I obtain this count?

Example of my fields:

Field 1 (1:15pm -2:30pm) A B C D E F

Field 2 (3:00pm - 4:15pm) A B C D E F

Need to calculate total here:
