FMWebschool has uploaded a free, fully functioning FX.php driven website powered by a FileMaker 7 database for you to enjoy. If you are interested in custom web publishing, and want to see it in action here is your chance. If you have FileMaker 5-6 you can be up and running in 10 minutes. If you have FileMaker Server 7 Advanced with either Apache or IIS installed, you can be running with FX.php in 10 minutes.

How does FX.php work?

FX.php is a free Open Source way of putting FileMaker's data on the web using the XML output from FileMaker's web companion. FX.php was developed by Chris Hansen of iviking.org.

What is the easiest way to develop a custom FX.php site like the one you created?

The easiest way is to you FXForge. http://www.fxforge.net

You will need to use FileMaker Server Advanced to custom publish to the web with FileMaker 7. We do have a product available at www.cafephp.com that allows you to publish custom sites to the web using the client version of FileMaker Pro. We adhere to FileMaker's licensing by only allowing 5 connections to FileMaker at a time. The new version of CAFEphp to be released this week works with FileMaker 5-7.
