toms Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Hello Almost all 'big' database servers (MS SQL, Postgress) include a mechanism of 'transactions'. It means that all operations between the start and the end of the transaction are done succesfully or in case of any error all of them are canceled and also all affected records are restored to the previous state. Are there any plug-ins bringing such a feature to FM Server 7 available? Thanks for any suggestions.
laker_42 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I believe you can turn off the autosave feature and then do commit record statements when you want to end the transaction. If you don't commit the changes, then everything is rolled back to before the commit. Someone else may correct me but I think that is how it could work. It would be quite a bit of work I think to get to work correctly and still be user friendly. my 2 cents for what its worth, John
