I am trying to use external authentication for Custom Web Publishing and am a bit lost on the set up on both the external server side and a little on the Filemaker side. Are there any documents out there that take you through step-by-step setup for this? Or does anyone know how to set this up?

Do I understand correctly, an external machine should authenticate on the FM side?

If yes, then:

- just generate an account and assign either fmxml or fmxslt extended privileges to it

- the external machine then should authenticate in the GET request like this:

http://account:password@yourfmwebserver/fmi/....
