Donnie Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Hello all; I have a file that I want to block the Duplicating option on the pull down menu, but they need to be able to alter the record, so duplicating is the only part I need locked out. I have the other settings I need in the password setup section for each user. If you need more info, just ask, or a copy of the file, anything to help. Thanks. Donnie
Ender Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 In Access Privileges->Passwords, you can change Available menu commands to Editing Only or None. This will lock out most of the menu commands. You would then need to use buttons and scripts to perform most commands. This is really not a bad thing, as scripts give you more control of the processes. I always lock out the menus to prevent accidental duplication, deletion, and (God forbid,) Delete All Records. If you need finer control of the menu commands that are available, look into SecureFM with Menu Magic from New Millennium. They have a demo on their web site www.nmci.com.
Donnie Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Awesome! I figured it was a checkbox fix sort of thing. It did what I needed it to. Thank you so much for the quick and accurate reply. Yet another reason why I love this forum! Donnie
