Run script with full access privileges not working

Featured Replies

I have created an order entry system. In the backend data files, I created a privilege set called processors. I did not give this extended privlege the ability to create and delete orders. I did not want them to be able to use the FMP shortcut keys to do this. I wanted to force them to use my scripts to create & delete records. So on the new order script, i set the option to run with full access. Thinking that this would allow the script to create a new record but when a user runs the script they still get the message saying their security does not allow them to create the new record. Am I thinking wrong on how this option should work?

I forgot to mention how my files are set up. I have an interface file where all of my scripts & layouts are located. It references all of the backend data files.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

JOhn

It is broken. It works on a single user but not on a network.

I guess I should have looked this up in the help first. Here is what it says:

The Run script with full access privileges feature only functions in the file in which the script is defined. This command will not override access restrictions on external files. For example, a script to delete records in File A that has the Run script with full access privileges option enabled will not delete records in an access-restricted external file File B.

I thought it would override any security no matter what file you were in but that is not the case.
