Indexing a repeated field from a script?

I gotta' be missing something here..

I have a repeating field of say.. 20 numbers. "Stack" And, I have another field holding the index I would like to write to. "index" How in the world, from a script, can I write to stack[index]? The setField deal only allows hardcoding of repeating selections.

What am I missing here?
