As there's no way to run both Server 5.5 and 7 on the same machine to test the new solution I run server 7 on another pc in our office. The question is - is there any potential of conflict while running server 7 and server 5.5 as all computers share the same network? As far as I understand, there shouldn't. To be on the safe side should I stop server5.5 manually before testing on 7 (which means doing this on evenings, weekends...when no one's working in the current database...)? We had some troubles lately with our server that's why I'm pretty concerned...

I'm running a Windows only office so keep that in mind but I did have v5.5 and v7 running at the same time but they were on two different servers. I did not have any trouble with this configuration. People didn't interfere with testing simply because nobody had the v7 client on their machine other than me.

I've never had any problems with this situation either.
