Images don't appear when loging onto host computer

Featured Replies

I have a relational filemaker 6.0 file running on a windows xp computer. The problem is when I log in to the same file to share it on a remote xp (or max os X) computer. Any image that is in a container field that has just a reference to it does not display on the remote computer. If the image is actually imbedded in the file the image does show up.

Now, if the file is closed on the host computer and I directly open it from the remote computer, all the images show just fine, but then you can't share the file

Since I have a database with over 30,000 records and 30,000 images I don't want to store them all in the database, just the references. Is there a way to do this so the remote log ins can see them?

It sounds like the images are in Global Fields? Global Fields become local in a shared environment.

No they are not in global fields.

Ok, I have figured out it is a reference problem in the container field and I will post a new question in the container forum.
