Portal Depth

Featured Replies

Have I reached a limitation for using portals in preview mode ?

The issue seems to be that, when using a portal, the depth of the portal area can not be reduced in preview mode based on the sliding/printing options.

I have presented the same data in two layouts, as 'main - portal' layout and 'items - list'

In the 'main - portal' screen, the depth of the text seems to be consistant, and set to the maximum depth of the text for 'ItemDescrition' and is not reduced in preview mode

In the 'items - list' screen, the depth of the text can be any depth (currently max 4 lines), and is reduced when there are less lines of text in the 'ItemDescrition' in preview mode

Or am I missing something ?

Thanks in advance,

Darrin.

This regulates by "Also reduce the size....." option and may be you is right - for portal this is not work for portal records, but for whole portal it works.

Portals are not meant for printing. Print from the related table. Preview implies printing.

Makes sense.

I was hoping to remove the step of creating a found set based on the main record's ID relationship, before entering preview mode, before printing.

I've found if I don't create this found set, I get all records in the list, not just the ones for the main record's ID relationship.

Is this the right process ?

Use the "Go to Related Record" script step to find the found set of related records.

I've redone the script, first line is ???

"Go To Related Record" which points to the related record from the table with the "Estimate Items"

This takes me to the first record related to the Invoice . . .

Do I still need to capture the InvoiceID and create a found set to select the correct records ?

Thanks in advance,

Darrin.

If you have checked the show only related records you have the found set.

Works like you said it would. Hadn't noticed that check box . . .

Thanks for your help Ralph !
