Moving data from records to repeating fields

Featured Replies

Hello,

Here is an example of what I am trying to do:

One FM file has 4 records:

Name City State

John New York NY

John Los Angeles LA

John Chicago IL

John Miami FL

I am trying to create one record out of these 4 in another FM file where City and State fields will be put in repeating fields:

Name City(Repeating) State(Repeating)

John New York NY

Los Angeles LA

Chicago IL

Miami FL

Is it doable? Thanks in advance for help!!!

Steve

Don't do it. Use a portal and related records.

Ralph, if it was my choice, I wouldn't. But I am stuck with the solution (done by somebody else) which is using repeating fields for line items in Invoice.

Hi,

You say you're stuck with a solution done by somebody else who was using repeating fields, but you seem to be exactly doing the contrary here.

Which of the file di you inherited, the first or the second ?
