calc. days between two dates (worked yesterday!)

Featured Replies

Basically, I subtracted todays date from the due date and resulted it in a cal field. It worked yesterday, but now today, I get a rather large number! Any idea's where I went wrong?

Make sure you used the Status(CurrentDate) function, and not TODAY. The TODAY function is problematic and no longer supported in FMP 7.

When you change the calc to use the Status(CurrentDate) function, also make sure the result is set to data type Date and is Unstored.

You're my new hero!

Thanks a million!

Hi vaughan,

This was a surprise to me, as I didn't recall anyone mentioning it in the past, but then I didn't read every Q&A about v7.

The TODAY function is problematic and no longer supported in FMP 7.

As you know, I'm just starting the v7 adventure.

I know that I didn't use the Today Function a lot, but I know I did use it when it was the better choice. So, I created a quick file using it in v6, and then converted it to v7. The Today Function seems to be [color:"blue"] supported. even though it isn't listed as an active Function. At least I couldn't find it.

FM7 converts Today okay, using a couple different methods:

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the response. I was so keyed into the fact that the Calculation show "Today" in it, I hadn't noticed that it had created a new a Field by that name.

So much for My testing results. At least the test file worked, and hopefully someday my brain will. crazy.gif.
