Hi,

I want to make a summary of only related fields, how can you do that?

example

if this is my found set:

product 1 - 30 pieces

product 1 - 20 pieces

product 2 - 10 pieces

the result of the summary for product 1 should be: 50 pieces

the result of the summary for product 2 should be: 10 pieces

if this is my found set:

product 1 - 30 pieces

product 2 - 10 pieces

the result of the summary for product 1 should be: 30 pieces

the result of the summary for product 2 should be: 10 pieces

Off the top of my head, probably the easiest way to do this is to Go To Related Records-->Show Only Related. Then do a subsummary by product to get the product totals.

Thankyou for answering, but that wouldn't have been the right answer for me.

I needed it for a report so I had to see all the products on the sheet with the right summary. When you perform a goto related that doesn't work.

I solved it with the 'get summary function'.

Hi Michele,

I think you could solve the problem without GetSummary. Rather, simply create a summarized report - using SubSummary parts by product and a field defined to be a Summary field (Total of Qty).

Perhaps this would simplify?
