Object Size: Why is an inch not an inch?

I'm having some difficulty figuring out how to align fields in a report using the Object Size window.

I think I have things aligned to use up the entire width of the page ... but when I print it out, a text field that I have defined to be 8 inches wide, is in fact more or less 6 inches.

Why?

What you see in the "Preview" mode should be close to what is printed.

Have you looked at your layout in Preview mode?

If it looks like it should, then it is probably a Font, OS, Print Driver, or Page Set Up problem.

Also, I'm sure you are aware of the Size Box Feature.

Mystery solved. For some reason the Page Setup was defined at 75%. No idea where that came from, but thanks, Lee, for suggesting it. I hadn't thought of it, since I never set it. Must have come that way in the original system.
