Newbies bdcramer Posted May 9, 2005 Newbies Posted May 9, 2005 Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to create a "Scan Document" button within Filemaker (windows xp) that would initiate my scanner to scan a document. I am looking at storing this document in a container upon completion, and would like this process automated. Any help on how to do this would be appreciated. Thanks
Frink1234 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Here's what I did. 1. Create a container field I'll call it scan_1. 2. Create a button to perform script: Go to Field [scan_1] Insert Object ["PaintBrush Picture"] <== Specify button to do this Then, when you press the button, Windows Paintbrush will pop-up and you can go to "File" and choose "from scanner or camera" and when you finish scanning and exit Paintbrush your scan will be in the field Scan_1. You can also purchase a plug-in called InsideScan which does this more elegantly. HTH. - Frink

cjaeger Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 AppleScript your Scanner (software) or open by button. Or enable your solution to open whenever you scan (twain, image capture) or insert a digicam photo chip. Filemaker App prefs).
