mentairia Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Ok I have a portal with 23 rows I want to be able to select any of the 23 Rows and goto the record which is showing on that row. SO what I think I need is a way to copy only the row I clicked on so I can paste it into a search is this correct? If so how do I do it?
Ender Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Use a button attached to a script that has a Go to Related Records [] step, followed by a Perform Script [] step to call a sub-script in the related file that navigates to the correct layout.
Todd0301 Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I'm having a problem in sending group emails after creating a script using Mac help. After creating a group and then seleting send email - the email addresses are inadvertently doubled in the To: area of the Mail email. For example they all look like the following example: <[email protected]><[email protected]> and cannot be seperated. If I try sending the email as is - it does not arrive to the sender. Does anyone know why this is happening and can provide a solution. Thank you. Todd
Todd0301 Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Help!!! I may not have posted my request for help into the right forum! sorry I'm new at this and have sent an email to the site asking for help but no reply yet. Can anyone suggest how I might find an answer to my question? Thanks. Todd
QuinTech Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Todd, several rules you should follow to make everyone's experience more pleasant: 1. Do not hijack other people's threads. You piggybacked your question onto two different threads, neither of which had anything to do with your question. 2. Do not double-post. Ask a question one time, in one place. 3. Post in the appropriate forum. Seeing as your question is about email, maybe a good place to start would be the forum that is titled "email and FileMaker" at http://www.fmforums.com/threads/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=email 4. Allow an appropriate amount of time before bumping your post (posting a follow-up asking why nobody has responded). We are volunteers and we have jobs we have to attend to. Your problem is simply not our first priority. 5. Do not email the site adminstrators with your questions unless they have asked you to do so. They are busy keeping the site running (and with their own work). They are not your help desk. Please follow these rules and re-post your question in the appropriate forum. When you do, please word your question a little bit more clearly. "Mac help?" "Creating a group?" I don't know what you mean by either of those things. Also, what exactly does any of this have to do with FileMaker? Finally, do you think the person whose email you posted here is happy about having her address broadcast to the world, spammers included? Sorry to be so aggressive, but you haven't made a good first impression on us, you know. J
Todd0301 Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Very sorry. Everyone makes mistakes and mine wasn't intended to do any harm. Don't worry about being a bit hard on me - it's effective in getting the message to stick! I meant "Filemaker help" and obviously my reference was to creating a group to send an email to. I wasn't thinking re: posting the email address - it just never crossed my mind not to use it here in my example but I can assure you a lesson has been learned. I hope I'm not the first to have made so many error on a first attempt at this! Been up until 4 am over the past two weeks working on a database solution for my business - very complex well at least to me. Thanks for trying to help and again my sincere apologies to everyone. Sincerely, Todd
QuinTech Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 No problem. I'll be happy to ask some follow-up questions once you've ended this thread and posted in the appropriate forum.
