Is it possible to set up a relationship that would take a range of dates and show an issue number for that range?

IE:

range 5-2-2005 thru 5-9-2005 = issue 847

range 5-10-2005 thru 5-17-2005 = issue 848

if I have a table that includes the start and stop range for each issue I can set it up easy. problem is that I have article that are from each day in that range and not a good idea how to set up the relationship easily.
