Trying to write script for thumbnail display

Featured Replies

I have an inventory and I would like to be able to have up to three photos for each record. I currently have three thumbnail fields and one large display thumbnail field. I want the display field to show the first thumbnail as a default but I want to be able to click on each photo and have it display in the larger field. How do I do that? Thanks.

Is this even possible? Is there a different solution?

Welcome to the Forums.

The simplest way to do this would be to have three different layouts, each of which would have a different large image. For clarity, I'll call your 3 thumbnail containers c_1, c_2 and c_3. Your large display field is just a larger version of one of these fields. In Layout 1, the large field is c_1, in Layout 2 it is c_2, and in Layout 3 it is c_3. You would then also have a field - let's call it t_Layout_Number - which would contain the number 1,2 or 3. Each of your small c_1, c_2 and c_3 fields could have an invisible button over it, and when that is clicked, you would have a script which would switch to the corresponding numbered layout, as well as set t_Layout_Number to the corresponding number. Now, any time you go to this layout, you can have a script check what the value is in t_Layout_Number, and always go to the correct layout.

Thank you! I'm going to give this a try. I'm a little confused by the t_Layout_Number part. How does that work?

Thank you! It worked beautifully!
