Remote administration

Featured Replies

OK, let's see if you guys can help me on this one...

I have FM7 Server running on a dedicated machine. Clients can connect

remotely no problem. I WAS able to administer the server from my laptop

internally using the admin tool that comes with the Server app. Now, all of

a sudden it tells me 'login failed'. Even though i never had a chance to type

in a password. Nothing changed that i can think of, it just stopped working

remotely. If i go to the server i can administer from there using the same

admin tool. Any ideas?

are the versions of the SAT tool on your laptop the same as the FMS version on the server? You might want to remove the SAT tool from your laptop and reinstall using the install folder in the FMS folders (not from the CD).

That's it!!!

I remember updating the Server recently.

I uninstalled the tool on muy laptop, but reinstalled from the cd.

Beautiful. Thanks. I'm going to try and fix it right now.

Darn...didn't work.

I pulled the FMS Admin Installer folder from my FM server and installed it on my

laptop. But it still says login failed. What i found curious is that after removing the

program then reinstalling it, my favorite servers were still listed under the new

program. I'd like to think that after a fresh install the plate would be clean.

Any more ideas? Some sort of registry thing?
