Newbies cptlonghorn Posted June 14, 2005 Newbies Posted June 14, 2005 I am new to all this so please be patient. I was under the impression when I purchased FM Server Advanced, that I could host a database over the intranet and the internet. I am trying to share a single database that can be accessed through the local network and also be accessed via Instant Web Publishing. IS this possible? I have configured advanced server 7 (so far) were it is an either/or situation. Any suggestions I am running SBS 2003
Wim Decorte Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 it IS possible. In fact it's what it does right out of the box after installing all the components. Did you follow the installation guides that are available on the FMI web site? The manual itself can be confusing but the installation guide is better.
Newbies cptlonghorn Posted June 24, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 24, 2005 Yes it is IIS 6. Do I need to change anything in the Default settings? Becuase as of right now it is all delault.
Newbies cptlonghorn Posted June 24, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 24, 2005 No I went by then printed manual in the box, I will try the FMI and retry. Please stand by.
Wim Decorte Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 No need to change anything from the default. The default is the best starting point. Any changes you can make are described in the FMI downloadable guide. http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fmsa_quickstart_guide.pdf http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fmsa7_web_install.pdf
