Newbies AutismLab Posted June 20, 2005 Newbies Posted June 20, 2005 Ok, our research lab had a database with a total of 217 records. Normally we can scroll through them all in sequence, and the ID# match up to the Record#. All is fine for 193 records. After record 193, the ID# jumps to 210 with the record # being 194. Now there are in fact records with ID# 194-209 - they just aren't showing up when we scroll through our database. We can however search for them specifically by typing in the ID#. What is even more unusual is that if I close the form and reopen it (not closing/opening the database, just the form) it will sometime "find" the missing records, and all is in order again. All 217 files are in order and accounted for. I am not sure what has happened to these files. Any ideas? I'm stumped.
Newbies AutismLab Posted June 21, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 21, 2005 This happenes everytime the database is opened. When I refer to the record #, I am refering to the roladex icons over on the left of the form. hope that helps.
Vaughan Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Lee was implying (ever so politely) that your database most probably has some nasty, deep-rooted data corruption. Time to recover the data from the files and import it into clones of known-good backups; or, if you have no known-good backup copies, import into rebuilt-from-scratch copies of the files. I would not use those files again, ever.
