Can I use ODBC/JDBC without Filemaker Server Advanced 7?

I have filemaker pro 7 database. It must run with MAC and Windows.

How can I get it?

I used an ODBC connection to MySQL. Before we upgraded to Advanced server I ran the MySQL database on the same server as Filemaker. Without Advanced server I think everything has to be local. Atleast that was my understanding. Now I have set up Excel spreadsheets that just need to be updated to get the latest data for reports.
