I'm working on a simple database compared to most of what I see on this site. Does anyone know of a good book that explains and gives good examples of scripts, calculations, etc...? I can't seem to find solutions for most things that I want to do.

You could try "The book of filemaker" by Chris Kubica from No Starch Press. This is an excellent 700pg. manual that tells you everything you need to know, especially scripts and calculations. It's about 60US. (comes with a C.D too)
