What am I doing wrong? - Starting to use CWP

Featured Replies

Alright, so I'm new to custom web publishing, and I've been following the white papers on how to set it up. So far (what I've done sucessfully) is:

-Update FMSA and the WPE to v3.

-Enable the WPE for xml/xslt

wpe.tiff

- Followed the instructions in the Custom Web Publishing Guide (white papers)

in chapter 2: Preparing databases for CWP

which are-

step 1: Create a new extended privilege using one of the following key words for the type of CWP tech you want to allow for the database-

pset.tiff

step2: Assign the new extended privilege to one or more privilege sets.

priv.tiff

step3: Assign the privilege sets that include CWP entended privilege to one or more accounts or Admin or Guest.

usr.tiff

So I thought this was all well and good.

I then opened Site Assistant, so I could get some idea of what the XML/XSLT would look like.

I enter my database test server's address- it sees the database I'm hosting, I can connect to it, then it takes me to this screen.

Where every single drop down has no options.

Did I miss something? I've gone over the documentation so many times, it's all blurring...

Thanks in advance!

The problem already is in your second step, the WPE setup.

If it is correctly set up, you should have a two blue zones (see my screen shot. Don't mind the addresses, we have a two-server setup with additional network cards connected by a cross-cable.)

In the web admin console, also setup your FM server connection in the FileMaker Server tab:

Address, FileMaker Server Identifier and Passcode (as well as in the Server Administration Tool).

Ahh! Thank you, thank you!

I didn't have them paired, now I see!

Thanks!
