John_P Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Our company has some very complex FMP 5.0 databases, which is slated for a FMP 7.0 upgrade in the future. One of the shortcomings we find with FMP 5.0 is that it lacks Windows authentication, so users log in with passwords that do not required IDs and they do not expire. Does FMP 7.0 address this issue? Ideally it would integrate with Windows and allow for an ID/PW configuration providing for a more secure environment. BTW, we do have tracking in place user the user name defined in preferences, but really need to ID/PW process with expiring to meet internal audit needs. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Wim Decorte Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 With FileMaker Server 7 you can use Windows Authentication. See here for a very detailed explanation and setup guide: http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/server_authentication_tb.pdf
