Layout of buttons

I apologize completely if this subject is covered elsewhere, but I searched and couldn't find it.

I have two problems that are very basic and would love some help.

1. When I insert a button I would love to customize the highlight colour when the button is selected - how do I di this

2. Similar question - I have a layout with a portal in it and the user selects one of the portal records and is taken to the detail. I do this by declaring the portal record as a button, and again would like to specify the color when the button is 'pressed'

Everything highlights black, Filemaker does not offer the option to change this.

FileMaker provides the Hand Over for active buttons (see preferences). Take a look at this presentation by Matt Petrowsky

There are some nice buttons in the Sample File Topic Area, search for Aqua, and also Brush.
