Bikeman17 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Hi there, I am looking for information on how to open up a cash drawer connected to a USB port. What type of script will do the job right? Any help is welcome
stanley Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Bikeman17: You'll need a plug-in to do this; for example, the Troi Serial Plug-in, available at: http://www.troi.com/software/serialplugin.html For more information, you might want to browse this list of vendors - it is aimed at Mac developers, but many of the links are valid for the PC as well: http://www.lloyd1.com/larry/pos.html -Stanley
Bikeman17 Posted July 7, 2005 Author Posted July 7, 2005 I am familiar with the troi serial plug-in. I already use this plug-in to open a cash drawer on the PC platform. On the other hand, Mac platform doesn't have that serial ports. Macintosh comes with USB ports only. Please refer any developers who could solve this issue.
RalphL Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 There are adapters see: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=555201
stanley Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Yes, sorry, you need the USB-serial adapter. To see what a whole setup would look like on the Mac, take a look at this: http://www.macpos.com/posbundle1.html -Stanley
