Hi All,

So, with previous versions of FileMaker, you used to be able to connect FM Server to an outside server (such as Lasso) using a machine running FM Pro with Web Companion. I've noticed that FM Pro 7 conveniently leaves out the Web Companion plug-in. Is there another way to connect without shelling out the extra $1500 for FM Server Advanced?

www.cafephp.com allows you to use the client version of FileMaker. A new version that enables you to use FX.php will be released soon.

This isn't really a usable solution for us. For starters, we use Lasso, and as such have a web database product in place. Also, it doesn't relate to the problem of connecting FM Server with FM Pro.

You're either going to have to shell out for FMSA, or dump either Lasso or FM. If you stick with Lasso, you'll have to use a different database, and if you want to use FMP for web publishing w/o FMSA, you'll either need to use cafePHP as mentioned above, or use Instant Web Publishing.

You could also just stick with v6 for a while....
