Newbies sarham77 Posted July 13, 2005 Newbies Posted July 13, 2005 We have a database that we received as a runtime version of Filemaker. I am trying to set it up in Filemaker Pro 6 for multi user access on our network. The only problem I am now having is it won't accept an import from a guest's computer (I have tried messing with permissions). The program has its own import script set up for the data it needs. The program is called CAMEOfm, and is available for free download. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Lee Smith Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 You can NOT share a Runtime solution. This ability went away with the Release of FileMaker Pro 4. The Solution will have to be opened using a Full Working Copy of FileMaker, and each user on the LAN will have to have their own copy of Filemaker (and unique license number) in order to access it on the Network. Newbies sarham77 Posted July 14, 2005 Author Newbies Posted July 14, 2005 That is what we are doing. But when a guest tries to do an import, it isn't working. The database has its own import script set up under a modified "file" menu. we are using FM Pro 6.
Lee Smith Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Two things to look at. With the file open, go to the Main Menu >> File >> Import Records, and see if will allow you to import. Do you know how to see if a File is "Read", "Read & Write", or "No Access"? You may need to change this option, as Windows will sometimes make a file "READ ONLY" when you copy it on a Hard drive. Lee
