Creating a sub-summary report by fiscal year

I have a sub-summary report that sorts by the year of a date field (Year_date_rec) that works fine in most cases. I have a client that would like the report generated by his fiscal year (July - June). I cannot seem to figure out how to do this. Can anyone help?

Try:

Year ( date ) - ( Month ( date ) < 7 )
