pablor Posted February 21, 2002 Posted February 21, 2002 Hello: I have a field that shows a list with several options to choose from. In some presentations this field has to be enlarged 3 or 4 times the size. (the rectangle itself) The problem is that the list's rectangle and letters also increases in size (huge!!), very annoying and also making it very difficult to handle. The same 3 items in the list now take 1/4 of the screen!! Is there a way to show the list in a "normal" size, no matter the size of the field it is attached to? Thank you Pablomac [ February 21, 2002, 09:19 PM: Message edited by: pablor ]
danjacoby Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 Is it just me? You say that sometimes the list has to be larger, but then you complain that the list is larger. How about not making the list larger? That should solve the problem ... of the list being larger.
pablor Posted February 22, 2002 Author Posted February 22, 2002 Hello: jejeje, . The list has the same # of elements all the time. But when making the size of the field (rectangle itself) larger, the list also becomes larger. (keeping the same number of elements in the list). That is the problem, the size of the rectangle not the number of elements in the list. Any ideas Thank you Pablo
danjacoby Posted February 23, 2002 Posted February 23, 2002 Next question: What rectangle? Do you mean the field itself? Because if you resize the field in the layout, then it will take up more space (or less, depending). So then the answer would be not to resize the field. I think the problem here is that you're not making sense, which may indicate that you're not sure what the problem is.
Gerd Muller Posted February 25, 2002 Posted February 25, 2002 pablomac, if I understand you right, you want to increase the size of the field without to increase its list, when you click into the field. To do that, duplicate your field in the layout, make it the size the list should be, and set it *behind* the large field. Set the field option of the large field to not allow entry. So the small sized field is used for input, the large field is used to show the data. Gerd
