pkozicki Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 My doc. has 11 layouts. Is there a way to make it so that when I add a record to one it does not add a blank record to the others? Thanks Phil
-Queue- Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 If the layouts are based on the same table or TO (assuming you are using version 7), then this is the way it should work and would be very incorrect if it did not. If the layouts are based on TOs from different tables, then this should not be happening. You may need to attach a sample of your file so we can have a better understanding of what you mean.
pkozicki Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 Zipped its 15 mb and this will not accept it...
pkozicki Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Clone = Copy right? Is this a special zip? I'll try copying it, taking the pictures off, then zipping it...
pkozicki Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Here it is w/ no pictures zipped_no_pictures_1.zip
-Queue- Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 File -> Save a Copy As - change 'Save a' option to 'clone'. This saves a copy of the file with no records. I see that you have all your 'tables' combined into one file. You would do much better to split the file into multiple files, one for each major 'entity' or category, and relate them as necessary. Otherwise, each layout contains the same records as all the others, even if you are only displaying specific data related to each pseudo-table.
pkozicki Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Ya thats what I thought I would have to do... I have an older version of the same theme, which is made up of files, but I could never figure out how to make them relate. Hope you don't mind if once I break it up, I get ahold of you again:) Thanks Phil
-Queue- Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Of course I would not mind. However, you can probably glean more information than you need regarding relationships by searching this site. ;)
