Multiple Installations of FMSA on networkcon

Featured Replies

I have been working on FMSA on my powerbook to get it working. I am setting it up on another machine so that I can look at both screens for settings, etc. However, on the second machine FMSA shuts down after just a few seconds of use. I assume that since I have the same installation code on both machines, it is stopping so that you can't use one copy on multiple servers. Is this correct?

Also, now that I have taken my powerbook off of the network, I can't access the administration page any longer. I get an error message that says that I don't have access to server adminstration page.

Any advice?

Thank you,

John C. Foster

Yes, FileMaker Server checks the network when it lauches to make sure a server with its installation code is not already running. I seem to recall that it logs this as an error in the event.log file in the server directory.

I'm not sure what's going on with your administration page.

I gues depends on the configuration one has.

The advanced server and apache server runs on a eMac G4 OSX 10.3.

My iBook G4 runs has the advanced server on a OSX 10.4.

Sometimes I am able to run both advanced servers symultaneously.

Today is one of those days.

Other times I get error 804 which is a permission or security error.

I just shut down the advanced server on my laptop when I am at work.
