Saving print setup options

Featured Replies

Hi

I am working in an office with 2 printers. One is an HP laserJet and the other is a Sharp copier with print capability.

I have some reports that have to print from different trays on either of the two printers. For instance, I have envelopes in tray 1 of the HP, letterhead in tray 2, and a bix stack of red yellow pink presorted. On the sharp I have legal and plain letter.

The details aren't important. In my scripts I am doing a print setup and choosing the appropriate printer and tray, and then choosing NO DIALOGUE so that the reports will print automatically from the correct printer and correct tray.

The problem is that suddenly filemaker has decided NOT to save the print setup options when I click OK. It just reverts to the default printer and default tray every time. My users don't have time to manually select the printer and tray every time they need to print something.

What do I need to do here?

Thanks for any help.

There is a bug with Print[No dialog] and printer selection is not stored in Print Setup on XP. See here for more information.

That thread is old. Are you sure there is no fix for this problem by now?
