Mantoroid Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Hy everybody, I' m new here and i have a little problem with FMS 7. Ore company has just upgrade from FM 6 to 7. The owner and the group for the files are good chosen ( fmserver and fmsadmin ) When i go to Server admin - Local FileMaker Server Admin Start all sevices is selected, then start server = no problem so far... Then Start Filemaker Server - Local Hosts ( 127.0.0.1) CONNECTION FAILURE... is not running...Start Filemaker Server But it is running ? What do I wrong ?
CyborgSam Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Have you upgraded the server to Tiger? If so, try restarting a couple of times so Tiger will fix the permissions in the FileMaker startup items and then allow them to load.
Mantoroid Posted August 2, 2005 Author Posted August 2, 2005 It works on 10.3.9 and i have restart a couple times... I will try repair permissions...
CyborgSam Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Open the file in FileMaker Pro and make sure the file has been properly set up to allow sharing. Go to the menu item File->Define->Accounts and Privileges, click the Extended Privileges tab and verify that fmapp is assigned to some privilege set. Go to the menu item FileMaker Pro menu->Sharing->FileMaker Network. Verify that Network Sharing is on and that users can log in (specify privilege sets whcih allow access if necessary).
Mantoroid Posted August 3, 2005 Author Posted August 3, 2005 i have checked everything you wrote and this is OK but when i open a file is says that he can not share files because a ather user is using File Maker pro on this computer. It's FMS 6 that is actually running...
CyborgSam Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 > can not share files because another user is using FileMaker Pro on this computer Basically FileMaker is seeing that it's default port for sharing is in use. Only one version of FileMaker at a time can serve databases on the computer. If I'm reading your messages right, you have FM7 Server and FM6 both running on the same computer. Also, have you converted the 6 files to 7 using FileMaker Pro?
Mantoroid Posted August 10, 2005 Author Posted August 10, 2005 Hello CyborgSam, I have converted the files from 6 to 7 with no problem. No i have access to the server and the pref. Next problem The databases are not visible in the Server ( just the basic template ) The usergroups and permissions are corrected ( fmserver and fm admin,...) How can i make these files visible in the server ?
CyborgSam Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Are you positive that the files have been setup to allow sharing? Check the Sharing>>FileMaker Network, and make sure that either All Users or Specific Users is selected, if Specific Users is selected click Specify and make sure at least one privilege set with an associated user account is checked.
Mantoroid Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 Everything is set up for sharing, also the converted documents... It still doesn't work, help help
