Public Announcement

To: The FileMaker Community

From: Matt Petrowsky & ISO FileMaker Magazine

I'd like to announce the establishment of a new FileMaker-specific

community web site at ISO FileMaker Magazine. For a quick peek, you

can review the site at the following url.

http://faq.filemakermagazine.com

The purpose of this site is to provide a central location for any

FileMaker developer or enthusiast to post their own FileMaker

know-how. This is not another forum or discussion bulletin board. The

site is based on the popular Wikipedia source code and is a great tool

for collaborative information collection. If you haven't heard of the

Wikipedia.org web site then you should check it out!

http://www.wikipedia.org

A wiki allows anyone to contribute to the structure and content of the

website. The community is responsible for the evolution, policing and

quality of the content. This site, with your own contributions (should

you choose to do so) should evolve into an organic site with

information about all aspects of FileMaker's software.

You may fall into one or more of these categories. If so, then you may

enjoy contributing to the site.

You enjoying applying structure and organization to content

You have an overwhelming urge to correct grammatical mistakes

You enjoy being part of a larger community

Whether it's one of the above or any other reason, I urge you to take

a look at this community resource and keep the site in mind if you

find the time to participate. I've started the site out by posting a

few of my FileMaker tips into the Quick Tips area of the web site.

I'll be posting a number of tips over the coming months. Maybe you

have some tips as well!

Sincerely,

Matt Petrowsky

ISO FileMaker Magazine Editor

P.S. One of the great features of a wiki is being able to "watch" all

the recent changes. You can either watch a specific page (if you

create a free account) or you can simply subscribe to the RSS feed of

recent page changes. This allows you to see the new content posted by

others! It's a great way to be invovled.
