I would like to get the contents of a "child" portal to appear in a single field in the "parent" table.

I am familiar with the method which uses the "get (valuelistitems)" for a value list made up of related values.

Is this still the best way to do it, or has anyone discovered an alternative?

Also, is there a way to get the nth (i.e. 2nd, 3rd, etc.) row in a "child" portal to appear in a field in the "parent" table? I have no solution for this one.
