Problems with creating a stand-alone solution

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a problem with a solution I am trying to bind. Its only eight Filemaker files and I have been running them with test data, around 300 records. If I make a stand-alone solution with all the 300 records, its fine. If I delete all the records - to leave a 'clean' solution, it won't fire from the .exe. Is there a list of things to check before you bind a solution? Should you be able to bind files with no records in them? Any thoughts appreciated.

Rosie.

You should be able to bind files with no records. Have you tried installing the binder on another computer as a test? Try binding the same files on a Mac to see if it works there.

Are you deleting the records before or after binding? Try doing it the opposite way...

Are you talking about double-clicking the .exe and the solution won't start up? What about clicking on one of the individual files?

I have had situations where one or more of my files require an empty record to make relationships work in related files. Try adding an empty record to the main file and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for these ideas. I will play about with it a bit more. At the moment I can't find the CD with the binder on it, which makes trying it on another machine a little tricky!
