How come I am now getting "?" in my field?

Featured Replies

I had a calculation that worked fine and now I am getting a "?" (Question mark) in the field.

It worked fine before and now I get the "?"

I thought I read something about this but cannot find it. Someone must be able to answer this simple question.

Thanks in advance,

-morning man

It usually means that the result of the calculation is physically too big to fit in the field. If you click on the field in browse mode, it should expand to show you the exact result of the calculation. You may have to change the format to get it to fit. Other problems may be that the result of the calculation is invalid, such as dividing by zero, or a date calculation that results in an invalid date.

You might also get a ? if you set a date field to a " " or "". If this is the case, you can do a SetField(date,TextToDate(""))
