bbaliner Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Hi, I am wondering how is it possible to define a field, that will simply display info, but can not be clicked into? Uhh, I'm not talking about limitted priviledges now. To explain I'll give an example: When you build a Data Design Report in Developer 5.5, some text fields generated by the report are unclickable. But there is no validation, no restrictions and no password protection. Anyone knows how to do this? Thanks
B-Man Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 I don't know of a way to restrict entry into a field a in Define Fields(doesn't mean there's not a way) but once you have the field on your layout select the field and choose Field format from the Format menu and uncheck "Allow entry into Field". This will prevent the user from being able to click in the field. HTH Brian
bbaliner Posted April 15, 2002 Author Posted April 15, 2002 That must be it, simple and quick. I thought there was some inner programming involved. Thanks brian
