Automatically send emails every day?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'd like to make my Filemaker database automatically send me an email every day at the same time with my current ToDo list. This is running from a windows computer, if that's relevant. Is this possible? If not possible with filemaker alone, can I incorporate this by combining it with some kind of web script?

you can use a plugin to schedule a send mail script to run at a certain time, or you could use windows task scheduler to run an ActiveX script that calls a filemaker script. Or you could schedule it to open a filemaker file that calls your mail script on startup.

Thanks. When I run a "mail" script step though, it doesn't actually send the mail. Any plugins that can do that?

Also, do you know a scheduling filemaker plugin?

Thanks again

If you check "send without dialog" on the send mail script step, it should send the mail without user intervention.

Otherwise, plugins like mail.it (Dacons) or SMTPit (CNS) will send directly to a server, without a mail client.

For scheduling, there is MMScript (CNS), Activator (Troi), and Events (Waves in Motion) Events is the most expensive, but it can send mail too.
