I think I've lost the forrest for all the trees. It is sometimes helpful to ask the question as the principle of operation and leave out all the detail. Or give us the high level (e.g. this is a sales system for ??, I want to be able to select...) We don't have any idea what a SERIES for "Goody" heading is! If you just launch into detail, we know what you did, but not, in general, what you are trying to do.

Having said all that, I'll give you a general answer.

Value lists things other than a static list of values you type into the dialog box. They can be based upon values from a field in the current file or another file. The values shown can also be restricted to the RELATED values in the current of another files using the relationship of your choice. The fields displayed in the values list can be CALCULATED fields based upon a field you set.
