Newbies iain Broughton Posted September 20, 2005 Newbies Posted September 20, 2005 Hi, I'm brand new to the world of filemaker so please forgive me if this sounds like a silly question. I'm building up a product catalog, and with the help of templates, so far so good. Two questions though. 1)The templates all default to using $ as currency. How do I change this to £. I've tried setting the default number format but this makes no difference. 2)My catalog also includes some old legacy products and I have a field called "Obsolete" (a check box to be exact). If this option is checked, how do I get filemaker to display a large warning stating "This product is obsolete". If the box in not checked, I obviously don't want/need a warning. Many thanks in advance and apologies if this was posted in the wrong forum!
Osman Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Hi, May be the solutions below will help you. 1) Enter layout mode and select field then select number from format menu. Then change notation part as you want. 2) Create a calculation filed which has the fallowing formula case( not isEmpty(obsolete); "This product is obelete") And you can alse display a picture for warning using container fields and calculation also.
