RichJr
can you display information from another record within the same database? for instance, a record of clothing information which has a price and sku, decription and a picture. That product, which may be a shirt, goes with pants. I would like to lookup those pants by sku and have the rest of info display, all on the same record which contains the shirt. ------------------ Rich

Related records are related records, matters not which file they reside in. Setup your relationships and portals as normal. What you are doing is more properly called a self-relationship and they are used all the time. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Senior Filemaker Developer http://www.database-resources.com mailto:[email protected] =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
