toms Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to get the MAC address of the current host (server) on which a database is hosted? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Tom
IdealData Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Run Apple System Profiler. You can get the ethernet address from "network"
toms Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 Thanks Mark, but it isn't exactly what I was trying to do. Probably my description was not clear, sorry. My problem is how to get the MAC address via FM script or a calculation field.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Check the Get Functions. There is one for System NIC IIRC. Steven
toms Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 This function returns NIC (MAC) address of the local client which is currently running (but not hosting) a database. TOM
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Sorry, I misread your initial post. Let me research this a bit. Steven
