I have 2 FM7 runtimes. Runtime1 invokes Runtime2 via 'Send Event'. Runtime2 runs in background mode and requires no user intervention. Both use Secure FM to control user access to menu functions. All menu items are disabled except the edit menu 'copy' & 'paste'.

They are 'created' in one set of directories and then copied/installed into their 'production' directories.

When Runtime1 is run for the FIRST time, and then invokes Runtime2, Runtime1 then sits idly waiting for Runtime2 to finish. Invariably Runtime2 appears to cause Runtime1 to abnormally terminate while Runtime1 is just sitting there. The Windows message is:

"Runtime1.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Runtime2 goes on to terminate normally.

Runtime1 may have been sitting idly (not paused, just waiting for another command) for a minute or more and the error occurs without any user action being taken on it.

If Runtime1 is run a 2nd time, again invoking Runtime2, and for every successive run and invoking of Runtime2, the error does not occur and everything works wonderfully.

What happens to Runtime1 while it is just sitting there to cause it to abnormally end?

Since Runtime1 seems to self-correct on the 2nd run, it may not seem like much of a problem. But users who experience this whenever they update to a new release will not be happy campers.

I hope this makes sense. TIA for any insight or suggestions.
