Oldfogey Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 (edited) Anyone struck anything like this? My customer installs a V6 runtime in various locations. I use Tarma installer to install the app and a desktop shortcut. Usually the systems are Win 2k or XP. Recently he installed it on a Win 98 system. It takes 3 or 4 attempts at starting the app from the shortcut before it finally sits up. Same thing happens if he tries to start directly from the .exe. I suspect it is a Win 98 or actual PC problem but any help greatly appreciated. Oh, and he did try re-booting beforehand and there are no other apps running. Edited November 16, 2005 by Guest
Vaughan Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 FMP 6 is supported under Win98 IIRC, so it's probably not that. If it's still running Win98 then it's probably due for a ScanDisk and Defrag at the very least!
Wim Decorte Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Probably a very slow machine. Have them put Task Manager up before they click the shortcut, see what the processor and memory do after that...
