Newbies peterssr Posted November 17, 2005 Newbies Posted November 17, 2005 I thought this would be really simple, BUT. I have a membership database in a single file. One of the fields is "Sex," with either a "F" or a "M." I would like to create a field that counts each and displays a running total for various sorts that I make. I've looked through many of the posts here and most provide a somewhat complex solution for what seems very simple. Steve
LaRetta Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Hi Peter, Here's an example. First approach uses Sum() to produce your results. Second approach produces a report (taking advantage of summary). You can have total per group. LaRetta
Søren Dyhr Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 There is something wrong LaRetta the number of males follows the number of females, but changes only when somone of the other gender is the found record. I've made a templat that changes live according to the chosen gender. --sd Gender.zip
Newbies peterssr Posted November 18, 2005 Author Newbies Posted November 18, 2005 Thank you to both of you, but I'm running FM6. I can not open thes files. Any chance you can save them for 6? Steve
